When I got my new laptop, I didn't want to scratch the finish or end up with a dent from carrying it around in my backpack. The neoprene sleeves sold in stores just didn't seem to provide enough protection. They didn't particularly appeal to me, especially when I knew I could make my own with my own personal flair.
